Well, quite a few things have changed since the last post and I figured it’s finally time I bring yall up to date!

FIRST: There have been people that have been trying to spread rumors about myself and the station, and I’m talking some pretty messed up crap about Rockin WAVES. Let me just say right now, that those rumors are NOT true. We are not leaving the air, we are not taking down the website and we are not canceling shows left and right. In fact, we are adding shows and more programming!

Since the last update, we have decided to expand programming on the weekends and I am pleased to announce that on the weekends, we are going nonstop! That’s right, after FNR Friday night/Saturday morning, when we usually signoff at 1 AM, we will instead continue on with music until 11 AM when Mike Ward will take over and provide entertainment and music, and then at 2 PM we will pick up right where Mike left off and provide more music and fun through the rest of the day and into the night and continue the fun on into Sunday.

So whenever you need music for your weekend, make Rockin WAVES 11294 Your Weekend Station!

Now onto other business.

Lately, I have been getting reports of people trying to Streamrip the Rockin WAVES Audio Only stream. For those who are wondering what Streamripping is, that is when someone rebroadcasts our station without our permission.

Let me just say, any re-transmission of ANY content on Rockin WAVES is strictly forbidden without the consent of both Rockin WAVES and the owners of the content. If you are caught (and you will be) streamripping Rockin WAVES, you will be IP Banned from the Rockin WAVES Audio only and you won’t be able to either re-stream us or listen in. I’ve had to do that a couple of times already so, don’t join the list.

I mean, seriously, if you have the technology to stream audio online, then it’s basically nothing to load up music, and play it from your own source. If you are too lazy to even do that, then you shouldn’t even be allowed to stream at all.

Anyways, that’s my little rant and update for now. Thanks to everyone who has been listening and we have even more great things to come! We are about to be heading into the holiday season and I got some big plans for the Holiday of Rockin’ 2017 that will be awesome! Be sure to keep tuned in! And in the mean time…

Yes. It is near the end of the summer and it’s time we bid SOR 2017 a fond farewell. And, to bid it farewell, we are doing it the only way we know how! We are going to be doing an ALL NIGHT BROADCAST! So, listen up, here’s what we will be doing, the phone lines, and the Skype Party Line will be open ALL NIGHT to take your calls and taking requests and all that. And we will be on the audio only and iVlog all night! Well, almost, here’s how it’s going to work

10 PM – 11 PM: Will be on iVlog and the audio only
11 PM – 11:45 PM: iVlog Only
11:45 – 5 AM: Both iVlog and Audio Only

Hope everyone is ready for a great night of fun an excitement! I’m looking forward to it 🙂

Now, onto other news,

We have acquired a new show to the Rockin WAVES lineup! Now every Wednesday night at 8 PM you can catch the Mad Talk Radio Show! 2 hours of great fun and talk about anything you can think about! Be sure to check them out every Wednesday night at 8 PM!

Hey everyone! Just wanted to bring yall up to date on some shows and other site things that I feel you need to be brought up to speed about because since the last post, A LOT HAS HAPPENED!

Since our last post:

– Derek Stark has moved the Drive Home to Friday nights at 7 PM before DJ Abbey’s Radio Takeover. So be sure to tune in!
– We have added a new show called The 60s Superhighway which is a full 2-3 hours of just 60s music! It airs every Tuesday and Wednesday at 5 PM.
– DJ Parker has started doing a late night show from 1 AM to 4 AM, the nights that he does this will be changing from week to week so be sure to keep tuned in for all the details!
– Mike Ward has moved his show to Saturday at midday from 11 AM until 2 PM
– DJ Dave Thunda is BACK on Rockin WAVES every Saturday from 2 to 4 PM
– Cranked Up Live has ended and has been replaced with Cranked Up Country airing every Friday from 4 to 7 PM.
– Due to my new work schedule, Chris After Dark has been replaced with the Flagship and is now called: The Flagship After Dark. It will be airing every Thursday night at 10 PM.

I think that’s about all to update. Like I said, it’s been pretty busy around here as of late and I know I haven’t done well in keeping up things here on the website. Please forgive me. I try my best but it’s a little tough at times keeping up with work, doing maintenance on the audio only, scheduling Facebook posts, keeping up the website along with having a social life as well. It does get a little challenging, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. I thank every single one of you who listen in on the audio only and leave feedback on our phone lines. It really makes me smile when I hear that we have helped you get through your day by providing music.

Hey everyone! Just wanted to let you know that as of this moment, the Summer of Rockin’ Kickoff is moved to May 21st instead of May 20th. Again, the show is moved to May 21st. We will also be running that week’s edition of The Indie Asylum on Tuesday afternoon (May 23rd) at 2 PM.

Whew! How’s everyone doing? Well, it’s been a few months since I updated everyone on what’s going on. So, I figured, best to update everyone on what’s happenin here.

Since the last post, we have celebrated 9 years on the air back about a month ago. It was a major success and we had a lot of people come by the show that haven’t tuned in in a long time and it was great seeing everyone again! Thanks to everyone who helped make the 9 year anniversary show a big success.

Also, The Lit Show went through some changes and it’s now been renamed as DJ Abbey’s Radio Takeover. Same time, same day just different name. Be sure to check it out every Friday at 9 PM.

Ever since we added the Audio Only feed to the website in 2014, we have had a few goals in mind, and one of them was to have shows happening every day of the week. Well, we can now check that goal off the list! We have just added 2 new DJ’s to the Rockin WAVES lineup and they will be starting this Wednesday (April 26th)! Their names are DJ Parker and Mike Ward. Two great guys who will be presenting you great shows every Wednesday! The DJ Parker Show airs from 11 AM to 1 PM and The Mike Radio Show airs from 7 pm to 9 pm. Be sure to check them both out!

Now, on to SOR 2017. This year, we have decided to push back the date a week due to the fact that the original weekend we were going to launch it, it’s also All Stereo Marathon weekend. So, we will be launching the Summer of Rockin on May 20th during the Flagship at 2 PM. Like I said in the previous blog post, there will be more than just the 3 standard shows per week. There will be other shows as well that will be happening the afternoon as well. So be sure to keep tuned to the site as well as checking out our Facebook page for special shows and whatnot.

Well, since I last posted, we inaugurated a new President, we lost a couple of legends and we added a show here on Rockin WAVES and we have another major announcement to follow as well! Let’s get started 🙂

I’m pleased to announce that we have added a new show to the Audio Only lineup. Every Friday now from 9 to 10 PM, 2 new DJ’s will be hosting a show called The Lit Show where they will basically be chatting along with playing music for yall to rock out to. It’s hosted by Abbey and Hunter, and they are now the 2 youngest DJ’s of the Rockin WAVES Team. Be sure to listen in and tell them Hello and be sure to visit their Facebook page and give it a like!

Now, some other news. Let me just say, ever since we signed on, on March 26, 2008, the main reason why we have stayed on the air since then, is because of YOU the listeners. Without YOU, this radio station would not be on the air today and it’s because of YOU that you have our forever thanks. When I first started this radio station, I could never have imagined having the amount of success that we have today and have DJ’s, live shows, our own website, an audio stream, our own request line (tune in to the live shows to hear about that), it’s just been a heck of a lot of fun. I don’t see the fun times ending anytime soon (I’m pretty sure I can hear the relief in your voices now). But, if you take a look at the date, you are probably saying, “Hey, dummy! You have a big anniversary coming up!” Yes, Yes, I know I see it. I’ve been planning this for only the past 2 years!

That’s right folks, we are coming up on our 9th anniversary, and about to enter our 10th year on the air! And we have some major plans in store.

FIRST The Summer of Rockin.
The 10th Annual Summer of Rockin’ Kickoff will take place Memorial Day Weekend (May 27th hopefully) at 2 PM where we will have a big kickoff celebration with lots of fun, excitement, and of course, music. That will be followed by a lot of shows this summer (more than just the traditional CAD, FNR, and Flagship) we will be having MORE SHOWS with yours truly and a summer you won’t forget! It’s the 10th Annual Summer of Rockin’!

SECOND The Holiday of Rockin.
The 10th Annual Holiday of Rockin’ Kickoff will take place November 18th at 2 PM. Now that date will not be the day we go Wall-To-Wall Christmas Music. But we will start bringing Holiday music into our systems and then either November 23rd or December 1st (or sometime in between) we will flip the switch and go all Christmas music until December 26th. Be sure to tune in for that!

THIRD (and something I’ve been hounded about for about 5 years now): Rockin WAVES T-Shirts.
I said on a couple of live streams on Facebook (which are sporadic and unpredictable) that I hope to have Rockin WAVES T-shirts available on the 10th anniversary. I am hoping that we will have t-shirts by the end of this year but I’m not making any promises. I’ve had offers from people saying that they can host a store and sell merchandise and while, yeah, that would make some people happy, it WOULD NOT make me happy. I want to bring you guys QUALITY t-shirts and merchandise that will last a while and not peel off after a couple of years. I’m actually looking right now at a couple of companies that are in town at prices to make t-shirts and will have more information as the time draws near on when t-shirts and if t-shirts will be available. I already got a design down, I just gotta get bids on it. These things take time and I would like to have these shirts last a while. If worse comes to it, I’ll do the shirts by sharpie if I have to.

But, if we do get t-shirts, please know that it will go as follows: DJ’s will get their t-shirts first (Free of course), and then, I’ll be keeping a few back for possible giveaways (finally prizes), and then, I will make them available for purchase. But know that it will be a limited edition t-shirt and it may take a bit for me to ship, because, if I buy the shirts and then ship them to you, it will be coming from my own pocket and I won’t be able to ship overseas (sorry UK and other overseas listeners).

AGAIN, I want to make this clear, THERE ARE NO T-SHIRTS YET, but hopefully, soon, there MIGHT BE. Just don’t start hounding me about, “did you get the t-shirts yet? did you get the t-shirts yet?” All that will do is, me, going to the block button, clicking it, and that be that.

FINALLY, the 10 Year Anniversary.
Yes, I’ve already started planning it. Our 10th Year on the air. Unbelievable! Just a couple of weeks ago, I was talking about it with some people, my mom overheard and said, “You’ve been doing this for 10 years?” I said, “I know! Unbelievable!” It is unbelievable because I never dreamed we would be where we are today! Now, while we are planning a celebration show for March 26th to celebrate 9 years, the very next day (March 27th), we are planning to kickoff our 10th year on the air with the big 10 Years of Rockin’ Kickoff (with the time TBA). It will be a wild day of remembering, fun, music that we’ve played in the past, and so much more. The Skype Party Line will be brought back for the day, and a few other surprises as well. Hope you will tune in and keep watching for the time of the celebration. It’s sure to be a fun time.

And we are busy here at Rockin WAVES! We are getting ready to host once again the All Stereo Marathon New Years Eve Bash! It’s a fun time for all members of Stereo Dust Particles to get together and broadcast all day long and provide great entertainment! I highly encourage everyone to check it out on December 31st beginning at 9 AM!

The Christmas Music Marathon was a huge success! We had a great turnout and everyone enjoyed the Yule Log!

During the Christmas Music Marathon, I made some adjustments and improvements to our automation to make it run smoother and more effective. Hopefully, it will prove to be good in the long run but only time will tell.

Hey everyone! We are in the month of November as of this post and we are getting close to the launch of the Holiday of Rockin’. Originally, we were going to be bringing the launch of the Holiday of Rockin’ on the day after Thanksgiving but I already have a previous engagement that will prevent me from doing that. Being as that since I always do a launch show for these, I decided that TENTATIVELY the Holiday of Rockin’ Launch will be Monday, November 21, 2016, at 8 PM. We will be having a special show on iVlog and the Audio Only as well and be playing your favorite holiday tunes.
